Bucksburn are recruiting!

26th September 2008

Bucksburn & District Pipe Band is actively recruiting new members for both it's Junior and Senior Bands.

The Senior Band is currently looking to strengthen it's Pipe Corps and Snare and Tenor sections. The band is about to prepare some new music so now is the perfect time to join.

The Junior band has had a very successful year in Novice/Juvenile and is looking to boost it's membership of vibrant young Pipers and Drummers who are learning to compete with MSR and Medley sets, while developing the skills neccessary for the Senior Band.

Cowal Gathering

31st August 2008

The 2008 pipe band season reached a successful conclusion for Bucksburn & District Pipe Band at Dunoon's Cowal Highland Gathering.

The Senior Band picked up 8th place in Grade 2, with a solid MSR of John MacDonald of Glencoe, Dora McLeod and John Morrison of Assynt House.

The Novice/Juvenile Band rounded off their exceptional season by claiming 2nd place behind Dumbarton & District to wrap up the Champion of Champions title - having only played at 4 of the 5 Majors. Third place in drumming was enough to ensure Runners-up in the Drumming Champions table behind George Watson's College - our congratulations to all our friends for a fantastic season's competition!

Drum Major Colin Hall also excelled in reaching the Adult D/M final. Sixth overall rounded off a promising comeback season, and Colin was clearly delighted leading the Novice/Juvenile band down the street parade.
